Hands seating a new grey door gasket into a stainless refrigerator door, ice storage bins visible inside

Issaquah, WA · built-in refrigeration only

The cold side of your kitchen,
back in range

Independent Sub-Zero specialists working the I-90 corridor. Sealed-system diagnostics, defrost and evaporator faults, ice production and dual-zone wine storage — read under gauges, priced before anything is opened.

  • Same-day on the I-90 corridor

Issaquah, Sammamish and the plateau are one route. A morning call almost always gets an afternoon slot.

  • Built-in refrigeration only

Classic and Designer series, integrated columns, undercounter drawers and wine storage. Nothing else.

  • Gauges before guesses

Sealed systems get read under gauges. You are told the actual fault, not the cheapest part to swap.

  • Quoted before we open it

A $89 service call covers the visit and comes off the repair. No work starts without your number agreed.

What is it actually doing?

Pick the unit that is misbehaving. These are the descriptions we hear on the phone in Issaquah most weeks, and what they usually turn out to be once somebody puts a meter on it.

Which appliance is giving trouble?

Sounds familiar?

  • Fridge side sitting near 55°F while the freezer is still rock solid
  • Compressor runs around the clock and never cycles off
  • Sheet of ice under the crisper drawers and water tracking onto the floor
  • Door alarm keeps sounding even though the door is properly shut

Usually: On a dual-compressor Sub-Zero these almost always sit on the fresh-food circuit — evaporator fan, defrost fault or a drain that has iced over. The compressor is rarely the culprit.

Multimeter probes on the exposed control board at the base of a stainless built-in refrigerator

Sounds familiar?

  • Ice cream has gone soft but the display still reads 0°F
  • Thick frost across the rear panel that has to be chipped off every few weeks
  • Freezer drawer no longer closes flush because the gasket has iced up
  • Loud rattle from the back that stops the moment the door is opened

Usually: Frost that keeps coming back is a defrost-circuit story: heater, thermistor or the control that fires them. A door seal that has lost its pull will feed the same symptom.

Hands pressing a new magnetic gasket into the door frame of a stainless built-in refrigeration cabinet

Sounds familiar?

  • Cubes come out hollow and undersized — half of them are just shells
  • Bin filled once and then production stopped completely
  • Frozen puddle sitting in the bottom of the ice compartment
  • Ice smells and tastes of whatever is stored in the freezer

Usually: Fill volume before hardware. A tired filter, a partly-open inlet valve or a squashed supply line behind the cabinet explains most of these before the module is even suspect.

Hands lifting a full ice bin out of an open undercounter ice maker drawer, water filter visible behind

Sounds familiar?

  • Upper zone displays 55°F but a bottle thermometer reads closer to 62°F
  • Condensation running down the inside of the glass door
  • Unit hums and vibrates hard enough to be heard in the next room
  • Interior light stays on and the compartment slowly warms up

Usually: Zone drift and interior condensation usually trace to the door seal, the zone damper or a sensor reading a couple of degrees off — cheap parts, expensive if misdiagnosed.

What people actually said

3 recent Sub-Zero calls around Issaquah, in the customer’s words.

Rated 4.9 / 5 · 674 reviews

  • Ice had started tasting of everything else in the freezer, so we stopped using it. He explained how the bin picks up odour, changed the filter, cleaned bin and scoop. Tastes like water again.
    Owen M.Talus
  • Frosting up for a year, and every previous fix was simply to defrost it. The fault was the defrost thermistor. He showed me the reading, explained what it meant, replaced it. Clear ever since.
    Priya S.Issaquah Highlands
  • Interior light stayed on after the door shut and the compartment crept warmer all week. It was the door switch, not the control board somebody else had quoted for. Gone within the hour, base vent vacuumed.

Questions

Before you call

The six things people ask most often on the Issaquah line. If yours is not here, the phone is the fastest way to get a straight answer.

Call (425) 272-6613
How quickly can you reach a Sub-Zero in Issaquah?

The Highlands, Olde Town, Talus and Squak Mountain all sit on our core I-90 route, so calls placed before about 11am usually get a same-day slot. Anything logged in the afternoon typically lands the next morning. Technicians are on the road 8:00 am – 8:00 pm, seven days, and the line itself is answered 24/7 — so an overnight call still reaches a person and gets booked into working hours.

My fridge is warm but the freezer is still frozen. Is the whole unit finished?

Almost certainly not. Most built-in Sub-Zero models run two independent cooling circuits, so a warm fresh-food side with a healthy freezer points at that one circuit — usually its evaporator fan, a defrost fault or a blocked drain. It is a normal, repairable failure.

Do you work on integrated and panel-ready installations?

Yes, and it is most of what we do in Issaquah. Integrated columns, undercounter drawers and wine units get pulled from cabinetry and reset on their rails without marking the panels or the surrounding millwork.

What does the service call cost, and is it credited?

A $89 service call covers the visit and the full assessment, including sealed-system readings where they are needed. If you approve the repair, it comes straight off the total. You get a firm price before anything is opened up.

Do you carry parts, or is everything ordered?

Common failure items ride on the van — evaporator fan motors, defrost heaters and thermistors, door gaskets, water inlet valves and the control boards for the widespread model families. Sealed-system components and zone hardware are ordered against your specific model number.

Is it worth repairing a unit that is fifteen years old?

Usually, yes. Built-in Sub-Zero cabinets are designed for a twenty-plus year life and the failures we see at that age are components, not the cabinet. We will tell you plainly on the day if a repair does not make financial sense against a replacement.
